Paul Goldschmidt, 1B, Arizona Diamondbacks

It doesn't come as much of a surprise, but Paul Goldschmidt has been mashing this season, posting a .416 wOBA and .254 ISO with a 49.7% hard-hit rate through 238 plate appearances. He also ranks 16th in average exit velocity among hitters with at least 30 batted balls this season.

Jeff Locke will be making his 2017 debut for the Marlins tonight after missing the start of the season with biceps tendinitis, and he represents a great matchup for Goldschmidt.

Locke is a southpaw (Goldschmidt's hard-hit rate jumps to 51.2% if we look at his splits against lefties this year), and he's coming off the worst season of his career, having posted a 5.06 SIERA in 2016, having allowed a big .372 wOBA and 5.04 xFIP to right-handed bats.
