On the other side of the Padres' matchup with the Chicago Cubs, San Diego doesn't quite draw as favorable a pitching matchup, against righty Jon Lester. This hasn't been a great season by Lester's standards, with a 3.90 SIERA, and right-handed sticks have given him an especially tough time, posting a .336 wOBA with a 4.14 xFIP.

Jose Pirela has been terrific through a small sample-size this season, putting up a huge .419 wOBA with a 39.4% hard-hit rate and 6.1% soft-hit rate over 50 plate appearances, and he ranks 30th in average exit velocity among hitters with at least 10 batted balls in June.
