Jhoulys Chacin, San Diego Pardes

Start: July 15th vs. San Francisco Giants
ESPN ownership: 18 percent

There's no reason to be shy about targeting the lowly Giants during their weekend jaunt at the pitcher-friendly Petco Park. The venue is of particular interest to Jhoulys Chacin, whose 4.32 season ERA breaks into some truly stark home/road splits, with the 29-year-old tallying a stellar 1.68 mark at Petco compared to a hair-raising 7.95 on the road.

Chacin's road numbers might be a little unnaturally bloated, though -- 16 of those 38 earned runs allowed away from Petco are bunched into a pair of starts against the Diamondbacks and Dodgers that most reasonable fantasy owners would have skipped. Then there's Chacin's wild meltdown against the Mets in late May, where he gave up seven earned without getting through the first inning, the sort of outing that will tattoo your ratios for the bulk of the season. But here we are, cherry-picking again.

The larger point is that, since that rough start at Citi Field, Chacin has been a Quality Start machine, going six or more without surrendering more than three earned runs in seven of his last nine starts, regardless of venue. He carries little of his teammate Cahill's strikeout upside, but he might be the lower-variance play this weekend if all you need is some ratio help and a decent chance at a Win.
