Fantasy Baseball: 6 Elite-Skills Relievers to Add for the Stretch Run in Rotisserie Leagues

Saves speculators might be jumping ship on Addison Reed now that he's been traded out of the New York Mets' closing gig and into a supporting role with the Boston Red Sox, but Reed has plenty to offer fantasy owners even when he's not shutting the door in the ninth.

First and foremost, Reed could very well be the elite strike-throwing reliever in the bigs, leading qualified relievers with a 70% first-pitch-strike rate. This strong control mark is reflected in his barely-there 2.9% walk rate, a career-best mark, across 50 innings pitched this season.

Granted, Reed's 35% hard-hit rate might encounter some speed bumps in the transition from the relatively quiet NL East to the more power-prolific AL East. Even so, Reed has been absolutely stifling against righties over the last two seasons, with a 2.40 fielding independent pitching (FIP) and 27% strikeout-minus-walk rate (K-BB%) across 75 innings.

As long as Reed can work around some of his new division's more daunting lefty bats (you know, new household names like Justin Smoak and Logan Morrison), he should continue to be an elite contributor in both ratio categories.
