Fantasy Baseball: 5 Pitchers to Stream for Week 20
Jerad Eickhoff, Philadelphia Phillies
Starts: August 14th at San Diego Padres, August 19th at San Francisco Giants
ESPN ownership: 15 percent
The ship has long since sailed on Jerad Eickhoff building off of his quietly strong 2016 campaign, as the young Philadelphia Phillies righty has seen his walk rate jump almost 5% while his whiff rate, reach rate, and first-pitch-strike rate have all trended in the wrong direction.
A rather promising 3.38-ERA run across 34-plus since the All Star break is somewhat muted by the persistent control issues (9.4% walk rate, 1.30 WHIP), leaving Eickhoff as a matchup play at best in standard leagues.
Well, the matchups don't come much better than the two Eickhoff has lined up this week, with a pair of road games in pitcher-friendly parks against two of the least-productive offenses in the bigs.
Mouth-watering as this slate may be, Eickhoff is far from a lock to put up all zeroes this week. Heck, the Giants chased Eickhoff in the second inning after touching him up for five runs (four earned) back in June. Still, that start was one of only two outings out of twenty starts this season where Eickhoff has failed to log at least five innings, so desperate streamers have to like their volume floor here, at the very least.
