There aren't many hitters making as much hard contact as Nelson Cruz has lately -- he ranks second in average exit velocity and eighth in average batted-ball distance among the 349 hitters with at least 10 batted balls over the past 15 days.

He has also been making terrific contact all year, with his highest hard-hit rate since 2005 (40.1%) and third-lowest soft-hit rate (15.0%) in the last nine seasons.

He brings that into a great matchup against R.A. Dickey, who is not only allowing a .354 wOBA to right-handed hitters, but his current 4.95 SIERA is on track to be his worst mark since 2008.
