Remember the glory days of April when Eric Thames mania was all the rage? Boy, that sure feels like a long time ago now.

Thames has gotten a few days off, so he may be back in the lineup tonight, and could possibly even hit towards the top. But his star has fallen since that glorious April, and he's going through a particularly rough patch. Dating back to the start of August, he's had just a 30.4% hard-hit rate and 33.3% strikeout rate. While the strikeouts aren't entirely surprising, his immense hard-hit rate was something he could still hang his hat on earlier in the summer.

In a mediocre spot against John Lackey, even with his price below $3,000, it's tough to recommend Thames while he's going through this stretch.
