4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 9/12/17
Tyler Collins, OF, Detroit Tigers
FanDuel Price: $2,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Facing rookie hurler Nick Pivetta of the Philadelphia Phillies, who's recorded a 6.49 ERA in 111 innings pitched this year, Giancarlo Stanton and his 54 homers are likely to be a popular option despite his high salary.
Just called up from Triple-A, Tyler Collins of the Detroit Tigers has a date with Corey Kluber, which means he'll likely be avoided at nearly all costs.
Why You Should Use Him:
As good as Kluber has been over his last 11 starts, the one ding on him is the fact that he gives up a lot of homers. He's allowed one dinger in 10 of those starts, and has given up two homers on two different occasions.
Lefties have enjoyed slightly more success against The Klubot, recording a 32.1% hard-hit rate (versus 28.1% for righties), and striking out 31.9% of the time (versus 37.8% for righties).
Collins has suffered through a tough 2017 (.276 wOBA), but he's still shown nice pop against right-handed arms, recording a .146 ISO, 39.7% hard-hit rate, and 46.8% fly-ball rate.
