The price is right and the slate is small, so you may find yourself going to the minimum-priced Carlos Beltran to fit in your favorite big bats.

But know that while he projects well as a value play against Ricky Nolasco, there is little-to-no upside in using Beltran. Although he had his moments earlier in the season, he's managed just a 28.4% hard-hit rate, .243 wOBA, and .121 isolated power (ISO) since the beginning of August. He's only hit two home runs over that span.

To make matters worse, the Houston Astros are playing in run-suppressing Angel Stadium, further reducing their upside. Now batting seventh in the order, there just isn't much to love about using Beltran as a punt.
