3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 9/26/17
James Paxton, SP, Seattle Mariners
FanDuel Price: $8,100
The matchup is right against the strikeout-prone Oakland Athletics, and the price is the lowest all season, but James Paxton simply hasn't shown anything positive since coming off the disabled list.
In two starts he's lasted just five combined innings with a 6.30 SIERA, and identical poor marks in strikeout and walk rate (14.8%). He threw 73 pitches in his last outing, so he may be close to a full workload in this one, but Paxton is still a poor bet to pitch deep into the game even if he rights the ship.
Particularly with some big-upside arms in Chris Sale and Robbie Ray on the mound tonight, it looks far too risky to pick Paxton as your champion to keep pace with the top hurlers.
