Tommy Pham, St. Louis Cardinals (OF)

Coming into the 2017 season, 29-year-old St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tommy Pham had played parts of three seasons in the big leagues, totaling 45 games played, with 14 home runs, 35 RBI and a career slash line of .245/.333/.455 for an OPS+ of 111. He suddenly became an every-day start last year, hitting .306/.411/.520 with an OPS+ of 144, 23 homers, and 25 stolen bases.

Baseball Reference calculated his WAR (bWAR) at 6.4 and FanGraphs (fWAR) had it at 5.9, both 10th-best in the Majors. This performance also led to an 11th place finish the NL MVP voting

It didn't just stop there, either -- Pham was 11th in weighted on base average (wOBA) and tied for 8th in weighted runs created (wRC+). He was always a pretty good minor league hitter, but never a top prospect. However, he came out of nowhere to put up one of the league's best performances from a position player.

Now the big question is, can he do it again in 2018?
