3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 4/3/18
Bryce Harper, OF, Washington Nationals
Price: $4,600
After a promising 2016 season, Julio Teheran took a big step back in 2017. His 4.89 SIERA, 18.6% strikeout rate and 8.9% walk rate were all his worst marks since his first year in the majors (a five-game campaign in 2011). Things didn't look much better in his first outing this year, notching 3 walks and 3 strikeouts while giving up 4 earned runs over 5 2/3 innings.
Those 2017 struggles were especially pronounced against left-handed bats, getting tagged for a 35.8% hard-hit and 15.8% soft-hit rate, which translated to a .338 wOBA and 5.56 xFIP. That spells trouble against Bryce Harper.
Harper returned to his dominant ways in 2017, posting a .416 wOBA and .276 isolated slugging (ISO) with an especially strong .442 wOBA and .332 ISO on a 35.4% hard-hit rate against right-handed pitching. He's already off to a hot start this year, and he's in a great spot to keep it going tonight.
