Fantasy Baseball: 4 Pitchers to Stream in Week 2
Tyson Ross, San Diego Padres
Starts: April 13th vs. San Francisco Giants
ESPN percentage owned: 2.4%
With a touch more than 60 innings pitched over the last three seasons and a 7.71 ERA in that span to add insult to literal injury, Tyson Ross has seen a decline from fantasy mainstay to fantasy kryptonite that would make even Matt Harvey cringe.
And yet there remains some glimmer of hope in Ross' recent performance that should keep him on the radar for pitching-needy fantasy owners. After all, Ross has returned to the San Diego Padres and thus to the hit-suppressing environs of Petco Park, which helped him emerge as the low-3.00-ERA ace of just a few years back.
Ross' Sunday start against the potent Houston Astros offense showed a shaky result (four earned runs) that masks some positive developments (six innings pitched, seven strikeouts, no walks), which is fortunate for fantasy streamers, as it will likely keep leaguemates off of Ross' scent for his juicy Week 2 date with the paper-thin offense of the San Francisco Giants.
Don't let Ross' low ownership fool you: he should be a hot target for streamers in leagues of all shapes and sizes in Week 2.
