3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 4/11/18
Joey Gallo, 1B, Texas Rangers
Price: $3,600
On the other side of the same potentially high-offense matchup, Jaime Barria is in a rough place to make his major league debut. By park factor, Globe Life is today's most hitter-friendly park (outside of Coors), and the Rangers' 5.75 implied total is tied for the slate's highest.
The 21-year-old righty pitched only three games at the Triple-A level last year, turning in a worrying 5.00 xFIP after posting a 3.88 in his 12 Double-A games. He also tends to give up a ton of fly balls, allowing a 58.5% fly-ball rate at the Triple-A level and a 53.3% at the double-A level, which is a serious concern in a park like Texas'.
Joey Gallo is a guy who has no trouble cracking hard fly-balls, particularly against right-handed pitching. In 2017, he posted a 46.7% hard-hit and 56.3% fly-ball rate against righties, bringing his career-averages to 45.4% and 53.5%, respectively.
He boasts a huge .312 ISO in 554 career plate appearances against right-handed hurlers, and while Gallo tends to be an inconsistent fantasy producer, he offers a huge amount of upside tonight.
