5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/16/18
Randal Grichuk, OF, Toronto Blue Jays
Price: $2,100
Randal Grichuk doesn't offer much of a floor, but his upside is pretty nice for a guy priced this low. The 26-year-old has tagged left-handed pitchers for a 37.9% hard-hit rate, 49.8% fly-ball rate and 14.1% soft-hit rate over his major league career, giving him plenty of power and home run upside tonight.
Eric Skoglund has been particularly bad against right-handed bats in his short time in the majors, allowing an absurd .459 wOBA on a 36.6% hard-hit rate and 43.7% fly-ball rate. That wOBA is not a sustainable mark and will almost surely come down over time, but giving up hard fly-balls to a guy with the kind of pop Grichuk has can easily spell trouble.
Our models are very high on Grichuk, projecting him as the second-best point-per-dollar value of the day.
