Ivan Nova's unimpressive 4.20 ERA has masked a rather intriguing strikeout gains for the veteran righty, who has upped his swinging-strike rate to 10.3% while keeping his walk rate stingy as ever at 3.2%. The outsized .380 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) on his go-to sinker could explain Nova's struggle with run prevention despite the added whiffs.

Regression may very well take hold in Week 4, as the Pittsburgh Pirates welcome the declining Tigers and their paltry .712 team OPS to PNC Park. Nova sports a slick 3.15 ERA at home over the past two season, making him an excellent plug-and-play in all formats this week.
