No one would blame you for thinking Ryan Zimmerman's 36-homer campaign last season was a mirage amid an otherwise steep decline, especially with the veteran Washington Nationals' slugger toting a gaunt .194 batting average through 117 plate appearances in 2018.
That said, the underlying stats don't exactly show Zimmerman tapping out to father time, with a robust 44% hard-hit rate indicating there's still some juice left in his stick.
Zimmerman has been a steady hand against lefties over the past three seasons, stroking an eye-popping .298 ISO with just a 16.6% strikeout rate in the split. With his FanDuel price wallowing below $3,000 and southpaws Clayton Richard and Joey Lucchesi on the docket for Week 6, Zimmerman makes for a worthy roster filler.
