3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 5/8/18
Mike Trout, OF, Los Angeles Angels
Price: $5,900
On the other side of the Coors matchup, the Rockies are starting a solid pitcher as well in Jon Gray. The Angels' bats are still incredibly dangerous, though, and their 5.13 implied total is the slate's third-highest mark.
Mike Trout is always a threat for a day's top fantasy score, having posted a wOBA of at least .415 in each of his last four seasons, with an ISO of at least .290 in three of the four. Righty-righty matchups don't slow him down, either, as he has a .456 wOBA and .359 ISO against right-handed pitching since the start of the 2017 season. That production comes with a 41.8% hard-hit rate and 47.0% fly-ball rate.
Our sample size on Trout at Coors over his career is admittedly tiny (25 plate appearances), but with the way he crushes the ball, it's also not exactly surprising to see that he has a silly .693 wOBA and .476 ISO on the road against the Rockies.
Of course, he's not likely to keep turning 75% of his fly balls into home runs at Coors, but bringing his ridiculous numbers into the most hitter-friendly park in the Majors gives him absolutely massive upside.
