3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 5/10/18
Charlie Blackmon, OF, Colorado Rockies
Price: $5,000
It's never hard to like Charlie Blackmon when the Rockies are at home.
He's an all-around stud from the dish, with a wOBA north of .400 in 2017 and 2018, but he's especially deadly at home. Since the start of the 2017 season, he has a whopping .484 wOBA and .352 isolated slugging (ISO) at Coors. If we narrow our view to just plate appearances against right-handed pitchers (like Jhoulys Chacin, who will start for Milwaukee), that ISO jumps to .369, coming on a 44.7% hard-hit and 41.8% fly-ball rate.
Chacin also makes for a great fantasy matchup in his own right. Last year wasn't a pretty year for him, with a 4.63 SIERA, but 2018 has been even worse. Over a fairly significant eight-start sample, he's on pace for a career-worst 5.52 SIERA. His 10.7% walk rate is getting up near his low 13.5% strikeout rate, and he's allowing a career-high 40.6% hard-hit rate.
A game in Coors is not when we should expect things to turn around for the 30-year-old Chacin, and Blackmon has a massive ceiling tonight.
