Adam Duvall, OF, Cincinnati Reds

Adam Duvall's pinch-hit walk-off dinger last week was a rare bright spot in a season that's been light on fireworks. The Cincinnati Reds' outfielder has, like most of his teammates, carried a light stick to start the season, with a poor .176/.264/.374 slash line that is salvaged somewhat by six long balls.

Those modest surface results mask some serious gains in plate discipline, with Duvall making notable strides in walk rate, swinging strikes, and strikeouts overall. Meanwhile, his 38.3% hard-hit rate is close to a career best, while his .193 batting average on balls in play, about 100 percentage points below his career norm, just screams impending positive regression.

With the Reds lined up to face lightweight San Francisco Giants lefties Ty Blach and Andrew Suarez, to say nothing of shaky Chicago Cubs southpaws Jon Lester and Jose Quintana, Duvall is in a nice spot to return value on his low-$3,000s FanDuel salary.
