Shin-Soo Choo, OF, Texas Rangers

Texas Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo is an on-base machine, thanks to a 12.0% walk rate for his career. Sporting a career .377 on-base percentage (OBP) and batting near the top of the lineup, Choo normally makes for a great choice.

But he's got a tough lefty-lefty matchup on tap tonight..

Danny Duffy takes the bump for the Kansas City Royals, and he has been death to left-handed hitters. For his career, he has allowed a .244 wOBA, 23.9% strikeout rate, and 27.3% hard-hit rate in the split.

Choo has not been great in this split, either. Dating back to the start of the 2017 season, Choo has posted a meager .316 wOBA, .068 ISO, and 17.2% fly-ball rate.

For tonight, it may be more useful to look elsewhere in the outfield.
