10 Fantasy Baseball Players to Buy and Sell for Week 9
Sell Max Muncy
So, who is it you think leads the Los Angeles Dodgers in RBI thus far in the month of May? No, not Matt Kemp. It's not Joc Pederson. And no, it's not Justin Turner. It's newcomer first baseman Max Muncy, who has been an on-base and slugging machine since he started getting regular playing time this month.
Muncy was called up in mid-April has been making an impact since he arrived, hitting .241/.354/.518 in 99 plate appearances. He has 6 homers and 17 RBI with a wOBA of .363 and a wRC+ of 134, 3rd on the team in both categories, with an impressive 14.1% walk-rate.
These numbers are out of character for the 27-year-old, who previously played parts of two seasons with the Oakland Athletics and put up seasons with a .285 and a .262 wOBA. His 6 bombs are already halfway to his career minor league high of 12, done last year in AAA. So while the Muncy story is great, he's not likely to continue being the third-best player on the Dodgers for a whole lot longer.
