Hernandez has only played in five Major League games (three starts) and has struggled to the tune of a 4.62 SIERA with a tiny 12.9% strikeout rate. His batted-ball profile is also very concerning, with a 43.3% hard-hit rate, 8.3% soft-hit rate and 40.7% fly-ball rate against.

David Peralta has made solid contact against righties, with a 36.5% hard-hit rate for his career, and if we narrow our view to the last two seasons (574 plate appearances), that jumps to a 39.1% clip.

In that time, his contact has translated to a .350 wOBA and .174 ISO, and that's more than enough to give him a ton of value against Hernandez.
