Jonathan Schoop has struggled from the dish this season, with a weak .272 wOBA, but he has only made 50 plate appearances against southpaws -- where he does his best work) -- and he finds himself in a promising matchup against lefty Jaime Garcia tonight.

In 216 plate appearances against left-handed hurlers, Schoop has notched a .380 wOBA and .240 ISO on a 36.2% hard-hit rate over the last two seasons.

Garcia is on pace for his second straight season with a SIERA of 4.54, and he's allowing a huge .391 wOBA with a 4.85 xFIP on an ugly 41.1% hard-hit rate against right-handed bats. Schoop could definitely improve his numbers in this matchup.
