Another guy our models love tonight, J.D. Martinez projects as the top-scoring fantasy hitter today.

The Boston Red Sox draw a great matchup with righty David Hess and the Baltimore Orioles, and their 5.41 implied total is Tuesday's highest.

Hess has made five starts in his young Major League career, and while his 3.07 ERA looks excellent, a deeper dive reveals that he has not been pitching well. His 13.6% strikeout rate and 6.8% walk rate don't inspire any confidence, and his SIERA sits at an ugly 5.18. His 30.9% hard-hit rate is fairly low, but he pairs it with a 14.9% soft-hit rate and 47.9% fly-ball rate. At a 4.23 SIERA, Orioles relievers also have the worst mark of any team.

J.D. Martinez has absolutely destroyed righties this season, turning a 52.5% hard-hit and 6.3% soft-hit rate into a .447 wOBA and .385 isolated slugging (ISO). He should have no trouble with Hess and the Baltimore bullpen tonight.
