The Boston Red Sox' 4.48 implied total isn't anything special, but on today's short main slate, that still ranks third, leaving them in a fairly promising spot against righty Felix Hernandez and the Mariners.

The once-ace Hernandez hasn't been as bad as his 5.70 ERA may indicate in 2018, but his 4.53 SIERA is still a weak mark, and that puts him on pace to notch a SIERA worse than 4.50 for his second time in the last three seasons. He's also allowing a 38.9% hard-hit rate, which is on pace to be a career-high by a huge margin, crushing his previous worst of 30.8%.

J.D. Martinez has no trouble making great contact against right-handed pitchers, boasting a 51.7% hard-hit rate with only a 6.8% soft-hit rate this season. That contact has translated to an elite .453 wOBA and .393 ISO, making him one of the night's top sticks.
