3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 7/25/18
Dylan Bundy, SP, Baltimore Orioles
FanDuel Price: $7,000
Despite a mediocre 4.57 ERA, Dylan Bundy appears to be having a bit of a breakthrough year in what has otherwise been a dismal season for the Baltimore Orioles. He's generated a swing and miss on 13.1% of his pitches en route to managing a 3.89 SIERA, which ranks 18th among AL starters.
The trouble with using Bundy is that his matchup completely mitigates all of the positive factors in his favor, and on a short main slate, it's not worth using a pitcher facing a tough Boston Red Sox lineup.
The Red Sox are flat out the toughest matchup in baseball for a right-handed pitcher, as they rank first with a 118 wRC+. They also offer very little DFS upside for right-handed pitching, as they have the lowest strikeout rate (18.4%) of all teams in the split. They also hold their own in terms of batted-ball profile, as they rank 14th in fly-ball rate (36.1%) and 15th in hard-hit rate (36.1%).
