The Angels have a solid 5.00 implied total in tonight's matchup with White Sox righty James Shields.

While his ERA suggests some improvement from 2017, Shields' 4.96 SIERA is an ugly mark and is right in line with both the 4.94 he posted in 2017 and his 5.12 from 2016. The White Sox' bullpen also has the seventh-worst xFIP in the Majors.

Like Martinez, platoon splits don't mean a whole lot for a guy of Mike Trout's caliber. He absolutely rakes against right-handed pitching, and in 2018, he has turned a 47.3% hard-hit and 43.3% fly-ball rate into a .438 wOBA and .301 ISO in 350 plate appearances.
