3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 7/27/18

We have quite the array of aces taking the mound tonight, with Chris Sale ($12,800) and Max Scherzer ($11,500) headlining the top of the list, while Chris Archer ($9,000) should be popular as a mid-range choice. Even though Zack Greinke ($11,000) is pricey, he should also draw some love against the whiffin' San Diego Padres.

Meanwhile, Carlos Carrasco is awkwardly stuck somewhere in the middle at $10,000, so he's unlikely to garner much attention. But he still has plenty of upside against the Detroit Tigers, who are showing a league-worst 78 wRC+ against right-handed pitching.

Since coming off the DL at the beginning of July, Carrasco is posting a 2.33 SIERA, 34.3% strikeout rate, and 2.9% walk rate. It's a small sample size, but one that demonstrates some intriguing upside against a weak lineup. There's some risk in passing up the more conventional options, but Carrasco could be right there with them when it's all said and done tonight.
