In a lost season for the Chicago White Sox, Jose Abreu is having a typically solid year.

Abreu has posted a 117 wRC+ on the season, but while he's hitting well, his 19.1% strikeout rate is on pace to be his highest since 2015. The biggest concern with playing him on Wednesday, however, is not about his ability as a hitter, but about his matchup against Luis Severino.

While he's struggled his past few starts, the Yankees ace has held right-handed hitters to a .276 wOBA this season. This includes a 26.7% strikeout rate and mediocre batted ball marks (36.6% fly-ball rate and 30.9% hard-hit rate). You're better off looking elsewhere at first base.
