On the surface, it looks like we may have a ton of stud pitching options tonight, with five arms priced over $9,500.

Jacob deGrom comes in as Monday's third-biggest underdog (+149 moneyline), largely taking him out of consideration in cash. Madison Bumgarner can be skipped for the same reason since he's sitting as the biggest underdog on the slate. Zack Greinke is pitching in a game with a 10.0-run over/under with the most hitter-friendly park factor. That boils your decision down to Luis Severino and Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw is throwing in a much more pitcher-friendly park than Severino is, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the day's biggest favorites (-195 moneyline), and the San Francisco Giants are the only team with an implied total under 3.00 (2.96).

The Giants rank bottom-10 in wRC+ against southpaws on the year, and their .302 wOBA in that split sits 21st in the Majors, while their .135 ISO comes in at only 25th.

Kershaw isn't posting the kind of incredible numbers we're used to seeing from him, but his 3.40 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), 24.2% strikeout rate, 4.7% walk rate and 11.0% swinging-strike rate are all still very strong marks.

That is enough to solidify him as the slate's top arm while he's pitching in such a favorable spot relative to the rest of Monday's aces.
