Ryne Stanek has been pretty deadly for Tampa this year, but his start is no reason to worry about the Boston Red Sox offense.

Typically a reliever, even in his 19 starts this season, the longest Stanek has pitched is two innings. And while his 32.3% strikeout rate is nasty, his 43.1% hard-hit and 52.3% fly-ball rates leave plenty of room for upside in the opposing offense.

As a group, Rays relievers also rank bottom-10 in xFIP this season, meaning that things get a lot less scary once Stanek's night ends. Thanks to this, the Red Sox own Friday's second-highest implied total (5.35).

J.D. Martinez is deadly against both right- and left-handed pitching, so it doesn't really matter who spells Stanek either. The right-handed hitter ranks third in wOBA and second in ISO among qualifying bats, and that comes with identical 46.5% hard-hit rates with and without the platoon advantage, while his fly-ball rates and soft-hit rates are within 2 percent of each other in both splits as well.
