J.D. Martinez, OF, Boston Red Sox

FanDuel Price: $4,700

It's pretty easy to assume that at this point, the Boston Red Sox are fairly pleased with their free agent signing of slugger J.D. Martinez this offseason. The right-handed masher has crushed baseballs for 38 home runs on his way to a .327 isolated power (ISO) and .439 wOBA.

Despite all that pop, it's interesting that Martinez owns only a 33.0% fly-ball rate against righty arms, a rate that is slightly below league average. That's particularly intriguing when you realize he's facing Cleveland Indians ace Carlos Carrasco tonight.

Carrasco has been brilliant this season, recording a 3.14 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) overall. That's built upon a .276 wOBA, 26.7% strikeout rate, and 4.1% walk rate to righty hurlers. It's hard not to roster Martinez on any given night, especially when you can afford to, but Wednesday's matchup isn't worth the high price tag.
