Against rookie hurler Kohl Stewart, the Oakland Athletics could pull out some offensive fireworks.

In a very limited sample size this season -- a span of two starts and seven innings -- Stewart has walked more hitters (13.5%) than he has struck out (8.1%), and he's allowed a 40.7% hard-hit rate. A .479 wOBA allowed to righties certainly makes Stephen Piscotty an appealing choice tonight.

Looking at Stewart's minor league numbers, he has limited fly balls well, posting a 19.5% fly-ball rate in two stops in 2018, but he also doesn't strike out a ton of batters. Outside of his first minor league stop, Stewart has yet to crack a 24% strikeout rate in any other location.

Targeting a rookie hurler with a limited track record can be a bit scary, but Piscotty seems worth the gamble.
