If you've been counting on J.D. Martinez to cool off at any point, you've probably been burned.

His 38 home runs are good for second in the majors, his 96 runs scored rank third, and his 110 RBIs are good for first. He also ranks second among qualifying hitters in wOBA (.441) and first in ISO (.320). He's averaging 14.8 FanDuel points per game on the year, and that has jumped to 17.2 per game in August, a month in which he has already notched 6 home runs, 20 runs and 21 RBIs in 22 games.

He's not likely to slow down tonight against Jose Urena and the Miami Marlins.

Urena has a 4.18 SIERA on the year, and while that's not nearly as bad as what he posted in 2018 (5.19), it's still not a very good mark. He's also allowing a career-high 39.9% hard-hit rate to go with a career-low 15.7% soft-hit rate, and with Martinez boasting some of the scariest power in the Majors, he's not someone you can afford to give up strong contact to.
