Fantasy Baseball: 5 Pitchers to Stream in Week 24
Jake Junis, Kansas City Royals
Starts: September 10th vs. Chicago White Sox, September 15th vs. Minnesota Twins
ESPN ownership: 40.9%
Jake Junis burned enough fantasy owners with his Jeckyll-and-Hyde antics earlier this year that his recent run of stellar work has gone somewhat under the radar. You wouldn't know it from his middling ESPN ownership, but the 25-year-old Kansas City Royals hurler has posted a terrific 1.91 ERA over his last 33 frames, certified by a 2.40 fielding independent pitching (FIP) and an immaculate 21.7% strikeouts minus walks over that span.
Junis is in a good spot to keep his late-season surge going against some soft competition this week. The Twins and the White Sox are both below average in terms of team OBP against righties in the second half, with the undisciplined Sox carrying an AL-worst 25.7% group strikeout rate.
It's also with noting that Junis has been lights out at home since the All Star break, with a 1.88 ERA, 2.18 FIP and 26.9% strikeouts minus walks in 24 frames. The young righty is easily this week's premier two-start streamer.
