Is any pitcher more deserving than Jacob deGrom of the Cy Young award? Over 28 starts and 188 innings pitched, deGrom owns a 1.68 ERA and 2.90 SIERA. He's built that impressive resume on a 31.3% strikeout rate and tiny 28.0% hard-hit rate.

As nasty as deGrom has been to everyone, he's been downright rude to same-sided bats. Righties have posted only a .211 wOBA, and he's bumped that strikeout rate up a few points to 33.7% in that split.

Starlin Castro has really struggled with right-handed pitch, posting mediocre numbers which include a .318 wOBA and .124 ISO in 2018. He may be a cheap play at second base, but facing an ace like deGrom makes him one we should pivot away from.
