Daily Fantasy Baseball: Positive Batted-Ball Regression Candidates for Week 25
Matt Adams, 1B, St. Louis Cardinals
Matt Adams has been a classic feast-or-famine bat over the past two weeks, mashing a .273 ISO even as he's struggled to a .152 batting average in his last 35 plate appearances.
The hulking St. Louis Cardinals infielder carries a 30% homer-per-fly rate and a .091 batting average on balls in play over that span, both red flags for impending regression.
Still, it's hard to project too much negative power regression with Adams pounding 68% hard contact and 24% liners over that limited sample. The Cardinals slugger seems like an excellent upside play at a FanDuel salary around $3,000, especially against vulnerable Atlanta righties like Mike Foltynewicz, Anibal Sanchez, and Kevin Gausman.
