Mike Trout has done Mike Trout things this season.

He's sporting a wOBA north of .400 for the seventh time in the last seven seasons, and his .449 mark is even on pace to be a career-best, while ranking first among qualifying hitters in 2018. He's also one of only two qualifying hitters with an ISO of at least .300, with a .320 mark that sits well ahead of the second-place .300. His 44.6% hard-hit rate is a career-high, while his 44.6% fly-ball rate is the third-highest mark of his career.

With those ridiculous numbers, his 14.7 FanDuel points per game rank second among non-pitchers in 2018. And he brings all of that into a plus matchup tonight, taking on right-hander Adrian Sampson and the Texas Rangers.

Sampson spent most of 2018 in the Minors, where he struggled to the tune of a 4.74 xFIP over 126 2/3 innings. His brief 11-inning sample in the Majors has been no more promising, with a 4.72 xFIP while getting blasted for a 54.1% hard-hit and 5.4% soft-hit rate.
