Jaime Garcia appears to be healthy, which is great for he and the St. Louis Cardinals. It’s been a long time coming. The southpaw gets a home date against the woeful Brewers offense Monday.
Garcia is still shaking off a little rust, but after walking none in his second start of the season, he gets to face an offense getting on base at a .280 clip on the road (47 walks), second worst in all of baseball. The current Brew Crew has had troubles hitting Jaime throughout their careers; the majority of the at-bats against Garcia have come from Jonathan Lucroy, Aramis Ramirez, Ryan Braun and Carlos Gomez. The four have combined for 29 hits in 110 at-bats, a .264 batting average, with three homers, 17 runs batted in, and three walks.
Garcia also gets a road date against Clayton Kershaw and the high-scoring Los Angeles Dodgers. Skip that start, but you already knew that.
