6 Daily Fantasy Baseball Studs to Target on 5/5/16
Mookie Betts, Boston Red Sox
FanDuel Price: $4,000
Nearly everything is attractive about Mookie Betts tonight.
Similar to the first two hitters, Betts is a right-hander going up against a lefty in White Sox’ starter Erik Johnson. Betts doesn’t quite have the discernible splits of the aforementioned sluggers, but he did record a .361 wOBA versus southpaws in 2015.
Also working in Betts’ favor is that Johnson isn’t very good. Filling in for the recently demoted John Danks, this will be Johnson’s first big-league appearance this year. In 86 1/3 career innings in The Show, Johnson has struggled to a 5.00 xFIP.
Wait, there’s more!
At 4.5 runs, Betts and the Red Sox have the second highest implied total of the day. Lastly, Betts’ $4,000 price tag means Betts isn't one of Thursday's 15 most expensive hitters while our projections rank him as the day’s top bat. We forecast him to amass 15.32 points, which puts him slightly ahead of teammate David Ortiz.
