Wellington Castillo, C, Arizona Diamondbacks

FanDuel Price: $3,100

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Victor Martinez, Wilson Ramos, and Matt Wieters all are in good matchups, and their teams own a top-seven implied team total today. Welington Castillo draws a matchup against Francisco Liriano, who is one of the more well respected pitchers on the slate. It's unlikely he is a popular option.

Why You Should Use Him:

Castillo has cooled off a bit recently, but his 10.6 FanDuel points per game average is still the highest among starting catchers on today's slate. Despite this, he is priced as just the seventh-most expensive catcher today.

Liriano has been as inconsistent as ever this season, posting a strikeouts per nine innings rate of 12 or higher in three starts but also allowing multiple home runs in three starts. At the end of the day, his ERA sits at 4.63, and his 4.12 SIERA indicates that he is simply not pitching as well this season.

Hitters have been absolutely teeing off against him, posting a 35.6 percent hard-hit rate on the season. Liriano has struggled against righties in his career, so there's a chance that Arizona's righty-heavy lineup could get to him for more than the 3.6 runs Vegas has them implied for.

If this is another one of Liriano's implosions, you're going to want exposure to Castillo, a powerful right-hander who will be hitting in the heart of the order for the D-Backs. Castillo has hit lefties much better throughout his career and has a ridiculous 61.8 percent hard-hit rate against them this season. In six career games against Liriano, Castillo has a .353 batting average with 2 home runs. Obviously some of those stats are product of a small sample size, but they at least support the idea that Castillo could mash against a pitcher of Liriano's profile.
