The Pittsburgh Pirates have an implied total of 4.60 today, one of the higher marks of the day.

Martin Perez will be on the mound for the Texas Rangers, which plays a big role in that total. Perez has a career 4.34 SIERA and has been worse than that (5.02 SIERA) this season. He's also sporting a 14.9% strikeout rate and 12.1% walk rate on the year. He is especially bad against righties, allowing a .332 wOBA versus right-handed hitters for his career.

David Freese's production so far this season won't blow anybody away, but he has managed a .336 wOBA and a 34.3% hard-hit rate. More importantly, in this matchup, he's a right-handed hitter who has crushed lefties to start the season. Against southpaws, he is sporting a .403 wOBA this year, and he owns a .362 wOBA and .164 ISO against lefites for his career.
