Despite a 6-3 record, 2.29 ERA, and a complete game 10-strikeout performance last start, Jon Lester has numbers that reveal a concerning outlook for the remainder of the season.

Regression should be coming for Lester, as his BABIP is well below league average at .262 despite allowing a 30.5 percent hard hit rate. When he does allow runners on base, he’s stranding an unsustainable 85.4 percent of them.

Concerns aside, Lester has an excellent matchup tonight and shouldn’t see damage to his surface stats. Versus left-handed pitching, the Philadelphia Phillies are 26th in strikeout rate (24.1 percent), 29th in ISO (.105), and 29th in wOBA (.266).

With his offense scoring 5.4 runs game and Vegas listing him as a -255 favorite tonight, Lester is a great cash game option.
