Whenever the Rays are facing a right-handed pitcher -- which is the case today as Tampa Bay will see San Francisco Giants’ righty Jake Peavy -- Corey Dickerson, a left-handed swinger, is worth a look as a cheap option who possesses big upside.

In his age-35 campaign, Peavy has pitched to a career-worst 4.61 SIERA with a 17.6% strikeout rate and 7.2% walk rate. He's been absolutely torched by left-handed hitters. Southpaws have put up a .402 wOBA against Peavy this year, recording a 47.3 fly-ball rate and 41.5% hard-hit rate.

That lines up very well with Dickerson's strengths, which are hitting fly balls off right-handed pitchers and hitting said fly balls very far.

Dickerson has done very little this season outside of his 12 homers, posting a .291 wOBA, but he owns a career .382 wOBA versus right-handers. His wOBA versus righties is .317 this season, and his batted-ball profile screams power. Against right-handers, he has put up a 35.3% hard-hit rate with a 50.4% fly-ball rate. An insanely low .206 BABIP versis righties is suppressing his numbers.
