Trevor Plouffe has had a rough start to the year, but with a 30.7 percent hard-hit rate that isn't far off of his career average and a .272 BABIP that is his worst since 2012, things haven't been as bad as they might look. He is making especially good contact against lefties, with a 35.7 percent hard-hit rate and 50.0 percent fly ball rate,and also has solid career numbers against lefties with a .340 wOBA and .190 isolated slugging.

He has a great matchup tonight against Adam Morgan, a lefty who owns a 4.65 SIERA and 15.9 percent strikeout rate through his first two seasons in the Majors and who has posted a 6.49 ERA on the season.

Right-handed bats have given Morgan a ton of trouble, lighting him up to the tune of a .361 wOBA and 4.88 xFIP, and that puts Plouffe in a great spot here.
