4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 7/27/16
Max Kepler, OF, Minnesota Twins
FanDuel Price: $3,200
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
There are several outfielders in good spots tonight, which should keep the still relatively unknown Max Kepler off the radar tonight.
Why You Should Use Him:
While he may not have the top-prospect pedigree of Byron Buxton or Jose Berrios, Kepler has looked like one of Minnesota's most promising young players this season. Since June 19, Kepler boasts a .366 wOBA, .319 ISO, .569 slugging percentage, and a 39.8% hard-hit rate.
Kepler has also hit much better against right-handed pitching in his short career -- raising his walk rate, cutting his strikeout rate, and improving his hitting stats across the board. That bodes well for his matchup with right-hander Mike Foltynewicz.
Foltynewicz has pitched a bit better this season, but he still has a career 4.96 ERA and unsightly 5.12 xFIP against left-handed hitters, up from his 3.99 mark against righties.
With the Twins possessing the fifth-highest implied team total and Kepler owning a respectable .312 on-base percentage against righties, he is a safe option in any format with enough upside to get excited about rostering him in tournaments.
