He hasn’t matched his numbers from the last two years, but deGrom has still been very good. He is sporting a 3.51 SIERA, 24.2% strikeout rate, and 5.5% walk rate through 112 2/3 innings this season.

With an attractive home matchup against the New York Yankees, deGrom is an enticing pivot away from Bumgarner.

Citi Field ranks last in park factor, and deGrom has pitched well at home this season. In 62 home frames, he’s allowed a .260 wOBA while recording a 28.5% strikeout rate.

The Yankees may have won the trade deadline, in terms of teams who sold, but they probably aren’t going to be very good the rest of the way. The Bronx Bombers are an offense to target as they rank 27th in wOBA (.303) and 25th in ISO (.142). Those numbers really drop -- .293 wOBA and .122 ISO -- when the Yankees hit the road. The Yanks have the second-lowest implied total (3.09) of the night.
