Johnny Cueto will look to do what Madison Bumgarner couldn't do on Tuesday night and take advantage of a nice matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Bumgarner was our top-ranked pitcher Tuesday, but he was touched up for 10 hits, 2 homers, and 4 earned runs in 5 innings. Despite that, we're back on the saddle against the Phillies, this time with Cueto, who is the top-ranked arm on the main slate.

The Phillies just aren't a very good offense, despite what they showed against Bumgarner. Philadelphia ranks 29th in wOBA (.294), 24th in ISO (.145), and 29th in walk rate (6.7%). Citizens Bank Park does rank first in home run factor, but the Phillies rank 26th in home jacks (48).

Cueto is turning in another solid season, and he's coming off his best month of the year as he posted a 24.8% strikeout rate and 5.3% walk rate in July. Overall, he's sporting a 3.58 SIERA, 22.2% strikeout rate, and 5.1% walk rate. On a night with no surefire pitching plays, paying up for Cueto is an attractive option, especially in cash games.
