4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 9/26/16
Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.
Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
St. Louis Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals' lineup is finally fully healthy and ready to unleash its nastiness on the rest of the league. They're up to third in hard-hit rate over the past 30 days, and they'll face Tim Adleman tonight. This Gucciness is just starting.
Adleman is now up to seven starts since returning to the rotation, and he still hasn't quite mastered the art of limiting hard contact. Opponents have a 37.7% hard-hit rate, 45.4% fly-ball rate, and 13.1% soft-hit rate against him over that span, the recipe for overflowing upside. His 14.6% strikeout rate mixes in to give opposing offenses a respectable floor, too, meaning you could roll out the Cardinals in either tourneys or cash in this matchup.
Your starting first baseman tonight should likely come from this team. Brandon Moss has kept up his ball-bashing ways since returning from the disabled list by posting a 41.5% hard-hit rate and massive 55.6% fly-ball rate. Then there's Matt Adams, who has a 36.7% hard-hit rate and 50.3% fly-ball rate against righties this year. They're both cheap, and they're both primed to rake tonight, so check out the lineup and see who's in there and who best fits in your lineup construction.
